Welcome Home

Welcome to our blog!  Chances are you arrived here much the same way as we did:  you stumbled across this site just as we stumbled into this crazily popular pastime.  Irrespective of how you arrived, we thank you for joining us for this leg of the journey no matter how many steps you choose to take with us.  Our desire for you lies in our name:  Hesed Haven.  “Hesed,” the Hebrew word for “loyal love, great love,” is often translated as “lovingkindness.”  The dictionary defines “haven” as “any place of shelter and safety.”  May every thought and every photo posted here magnify our Lord, testifying of His limitless lovingkindness.  May you run to Him as your only sure refuge.  Together may we declare with David,

“…I shall sing of Thy strength;
Yes, I shall joyfully sing of Thy lovingkindness in the morning,
For Thou hast been my stronghold,
And a refuge in the day of my distress.”
Psalm 59:16
For those of you choosing to return to our site, thank you for stopping by again.  Please look for new posts under “Recent Posts” in the menu to the right.

  1. So glad you are using this forum for communication. Keep writing! I love to read every word.

  2. Jodi-May our great Father in Heaven help all of you to adjust to your new location. And may He comfort your heart with good news from the girls. The new here about persecutions in the Northeast are not good, though they revolve around Hindus and Pogo (?) not Christians. May He calm the storms that have blown up. Waiting for more news-Peggy

  3. Jodi & Nelson,
    We’d love to receive you email newsletters. We haven’t heard what is going on in your lives for quite awhile. Someone told us the girls weren’t living with you anymore. We’d love to know more so we can be praying for your family.

    We’ve started a new Sunday school class in March for young adults. Quite a few people have started attending S.S. that never used to come. We are encouraged with the work God is doing in people’s hearts here in Newman Grove. Also in March, TJ & Terra Rexilius moved here to be our youth pastor. They took the kids to an event on Saturday where the gospel was shared, and the kids got to meet other believers in the area. It was an encouragement to those who know the Lord, and the friends that came along heard how to have a relationship with Christ.
    Love,
    Kristin Carlson

Who would be a good friend for nathanael who is 8? Also, Thadd has requested his missionary be you guys because of his relationship with you from Sparks!
